The Bakersfield Jazz Festival returns to the CSU Bakersfield campus on April 28, and 29, 2017 for two days of music, food, drink, and scholarship awards! Donny McCaslin and his quartet will headline Friday night, April 28 with Ghost-Note, a high-energy ensemble led by percussionist from Snarky Puppy, Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth and local funk/jazz/rock group Soulajar serving as opening acts. On Saturday night April 29, we are pleased to have co-headliners in guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel's Caipi and trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. Opening the festivities on Saturday are Moonchild, The Kandinsky Effect, and Haakon Graf & Grafitti LA Edition.
