The French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest will host the 27th Annual Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Festival at the prestigious Columbia Tower Club on Friday, November 22, 2019. This is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the United States, drawing close to 500 attendees each year to enjoy the closing of the harvest season and the opening of the holiday season, in a unique, French-themed ambiance. The Tradition The festival is a tribute to the French harvest of welcoming the arrival of the first 2016 "new wines" of the famous Beaujolais region of France. The area boasts some of the oldest vineyards in France, with vines first planted during the Roman era. This annual ceremonial uncorking of the wine, which originated in the cafés of France, is now celebrated all over the world.
