In recent years, percussion acts like Congo-Brazzaville’s Brazza Drummers hosts a multi-day course on the art of drumming, from both a technical and cultural perspective. Workshops and sign-up info are announced a few months prior to the festival on the Mawazine Facebook page.
Hop the tramway to Salé
Located about 5 miles east of Rabat, the city of Salé hosts an Arab-music stage at a cinema called Salle Renaissance. A short, modern tramway connects Rabat and Salé, and tickets should be purchased at kiosks found in both cities. For more info, see the tram's official site.
