Las Nieves is a small town, so plan accordingly
Thousands of people stream into this town of 4,000 for this well-known event, so plan your travel early. Taxis are hard to find, there are almost no hotels in town, and by 10 am on the day of the festival, the streets are packed.
If you arrive late, you can still hear the mass through loudspeakers outside the church
Don’t expect to get a seat or have standing room in church if you’re not there an hour before the noon service.
Enjoy some of the local delicacies from the great street vendors
One of the most popular local dishes is octopus cooked in huge copper pots and, of course, every kind of tapas you can imagine.
If you’ve made the trek here, experience Galicia
The beautiful Spanish coastline is a short drive from Las Nieves, and you ought to make the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
