Everfest's Take

From the Organizer

For many local families, the fall season always peaks with the Harvest Festival Weekend at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. Held this year on Saturday, October 14, and Sunday, October 15, from 11 am to 3 pm each day, the SM&NC’s Harvest Festival is chock-full of activities and events for members and visitors of all ages to enjoy. Watch farm-animal demonstrations on Heckscher Farm, see how apple cider is made, take part in an apple slingshot contest, children’s crafts, story-telling with Ms. Karen, and listen to live music from the ever-popular Jay and Ray. Feast on the delicious fare at an array of locally popular food trucks, from Booth Bay, Cowabunga, and Melt Mobile, to Skinny Pines, Taco Loco, Valencia, and more. And don’t forget to stop by our Snack Shack for more treats, like cauldron-cooked corn. Harvest Festival Weekend takes place October 15 & 16, 11 am-3 pm at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center’s 118-acre facility on 39 Scofieldtown Rd. in Stamford. Daily admission fees are $5 per person for SM&NC Members; Family PLUS, Director’s Circle Members, and all children age 3 and under are admitted free of charge. Non-members are $10 per person. Visit stamfordmuseum.org to purchase tickets in advance and to view a schedule of the weekend’s activities and other upcoming family-oriented events, including Trick-or-Treat on Heckscher Farm, Sunday, October 30, 1-3 pm; Touch-a-Truck & Stamford Charity Cook-off, Sunday, November 6, 11 am-3 pm; and Election on the Farm, Tuesday, November 8, 11 am-3 pm.
