Everyone’s a little more lovey-dovey in February. After all, it’s the month of Valentine’s Day. A pink and red aisle pops up at the grocery store and the price for a dozen roses is outrageous. Frank Sinatra famously crooned, “Love was made for me and you.” That’s easy for you to say Mr. Sultan of Swoon. Maybe it was, and maybe it wasn’t. No matter how much love is in the air, there’s a special place that will take you with open arms, single or married, man or woman—the festival. Who says your love can’t be the festival? And there are a profusion of festivals in February. Get some culture at the Chicago Chinese New Year Parade or jam out at the University of Chicago Folk Festival, just to name a few.
