Eat
GovBall’s organizers go out of their way to bring in local, small-scale, and artisan food vendors to feed their masses. Everything from risotto balls to grilled blue-cheese sandwiches to locally roasted coffee and craft beer are on offer, so that even the snobbiest Brooklyn gourmand should find something quite to their taste.
Plan ahead
Yes, festivals are meant to be footloose and fancy-free. But seasoned GovBall veterans will all give you the same advice: Plan ahead, and pace yourself.
Party after the party
When the sets are over, the festival is not. No matter your musical taste, there’s an after-party for you on each day of the festival. Some of these shindigs require tickets, but GovBall’s website is helpful in sifting through the many options. Going to one of these parties may just be your chance to get closer to the band—always a tough feat in the festival atmosphere.
Getting There
To get to the festival, you can take the bus, the subway, the Manhattan ferry, the Brooklyn shuttle, drive, bike, or walk.
