This small Channel island situated between England and France, relies on the Crown, but has a blend of English and French cultures. It’s festivals are few, but one stands out to many: The Boxing Day Dip. Every December 26th, brave, and half-clothed people, sprint into the chilly waters of the English Channel. With water temperatures around eighty degrees, the shock is instant and the pain face imminent. It’s a fun way to welcome the new year by freezing your butt off with local residents and thrill fanatics.
