Though a tumultuous past has ingrained itself in South Africa’s history, today it celebrates its varied society with festivals. AfrikaBurn (Africa’s answer to Burning Man) boasts a free-spirited, loving festival community that gathers in the desert once a year for revelry. The native people celebrate dancing at the Zulu Royal Reed Dance Festival (Google images: NSFW). Women don only skirts and engage in traditional dances.
