More than 126,000 people from 119 countries poured into Barcelona for Sónar Festival 2018 this past weekend, the festival's 25th anniversary and busiest year to date. Sónar+D, the festival's "congress for creativity and technology," drew 5,900 professionals for dozens of events and workshops ranging from wildly creative virtual and augmented reality showcases, immersive storytelling workshops and mind-blowing experiments in audiovisual technology and music.
Headliners Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem, Rosalía, Thom Yorke, Tokimonsta, Diplo, 2manydjs, Yung Lean, DESPACIO, Laurent Garnier, Rels B, Nathy Peluso, Mueveloreina, Pedro Ladroga, Putochinomaricón, Liberato, Sophie, Sinjin Hawke & Zora Jones, Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, Niño de Elche and Israel Galván brought the heat, along with a wild closing set from Richie Hawtin.
