Get the lay of the (design) land
To familiarize yourself with London’s design scene before diving into the festival, visit the cutting-edge Design Museum, set just below Tower Bridge.
Narrow the field
Though you can download them from the festival’s website, once you’re in London you might consider stopping into any events venue (like the Victoria & Albert Museum, for example) and picking up free, hard copies of the LDF guide and map. Before you travel, think about packing a highlighter pen to help you keep track of events you’d like to attend.
Stay for less
A handful of London hotels offer discounted rates for festival attendees. Before you book a room anywhere, check the festival website’s “Visit” section for participating hotels.
Travel
Most international visitors to London will fly into one of two major airports: Heathrow (LHR) or Gatwick (LGW).
