Balaton Sound is all about basking in the warm sun, floating on Central Europe's largest lake with beverage in hand with festie friends chilling in hammocks nearby, filling the daytime with adventures, raging all night to incredible music – and then doing it all over again the next day. In short, Hungary's second-largest music festival (right behind Sziget, it's sister festival) epitomizes those sweet, sweet summertime festival vibes we dream about throughout Spring, Fall and Winter.

One of Europe's biggest open-air electronic music festivals, Balaton Soundtakes place in Zamardi, Hungary on the shores of Lake Balaton. Its 24-hour music programming features some of the biggest stars in the world, naturally befitting this wildly popular event that's been going in since 2007. This year, Rita Ora, DJ Snake, Alesso, Axwell ^ Ingrosso, The Chainsmokers, Big Sean, Eric Prydz, and David Guetta were just some of the decorated names populating the lineup. And although there are several stages (including a main stage area that accommodates up to 50,000 people) where people rage nonstop, there are also plenty of places for the festivals 80,000 attendees to slip away and relax. Mellow and frenzied, in other words, collide.
