Baltimore, or Charm City as it's called, was founded in 1727 and is the largest city in Maryland. Once a major port and manufacturing hub, Baltimore now is home to financial services firms, world famous hospitals such as Johns Hopkins, some of the best crabcakes you will ever eat, The Preakness Stakes, and rabid sports fans who root for the Orioles and Ravens. Famous residents include Edgar Allen Poe, Babe Ruth and Billie Holiday. Baltimore holds festivals year round including the the Frozen Harbour Music Festival and Maryland Deathfest.
